We are the Centro de Estudios Marinos (CEM www.estudiosmarinos.com) and Bay Islands Conservation Association (BICA Roatan www.bayislandsconservationassociation.org) , we are writing to you to extend the a cordial invitation to be part of our project "Reef Garden" which is an initiative driven by OCEANUS (www.oceanus.org.mx) an organization within the framework of the "Reef Restoration Network" program . the objective is to certify people from the islands of the bay and surroundings in the development of new techniques for the conservation and restoration of reefs.
The above consists in the development of a training schedule and the participants must commit to participate in the different activities of the project during its development until completing the cycle from the installation of nurseries to transplants. During the activities the participants will be constantly observed to have a final evaluation and then receive the certification from authorized guides. Upon completion, certified participants will receive a manual with guidelines and good practices for visits to nurseries, as well as procedures to disseminate the program and the contribution of donations through the "Adopt a coral" program. This will allow locals and visitors to feel more integrated to the effort and to deliver the message to other people, tourists, their relatives and friends.
